Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy is an essential part of every cancer care plan. Chemotherapy was first used in the 19th century to treat patients with advanced stages of cancer, such as stage III or stage IV cancers. Chemotherapy is also often used to treat cancer in its early stages. When chemotherapy is paired with other cancer treatment modalities such as surgery or radiation therapy, a synergistic effect occurs, resulting in the best treatment results for patients.
